PNG & SVG.

Explore the png & svg reading collection, with background concepts and detailed guides that connect terminology to practical decisions.

PNG and SVG can both appear in a frame composition workflow, but they represent graphics differently. PNG stores raster pixels and can preserve transparency. SVG describes graphic structure such as paths, shapes, and text, and can also include raster imagery. An SVG border may scale cleanly while an embedded photograph still has finite detail. The choice is therefore about the content and the required output, not a universal contest between a supposedly sharper format and a smaller one.

These articles examine where raster export, vector layout, and transparency meet. Look closely at font handling, referenced images, output dimensions, and the point where a vector composition becomes a bitmap. The image format and composition overview helps connect those decisions. For a practical comparison, export a layout containing a logo, a photo, and small text, then inspect each element separately. A format can suit one element well while exposing limitations in another.
